About Cara...

Cara Sullivan is a New York City singer-songwriter, voice teacher, podcast host, and creative entrepreneur whose work centers on honesty, healing, and human connection.

After years of building a successful career in consulting and operations, Cara chose to leave the traditional corporate path and devote herself more fully to an artistic life. Today, she writes and performs emotionally candid music, helps others develop confidence in their voices, creates space for meaningful conversations, and supports clients through her flexible administrative business, Cara Admin.

The Artist Behind The Work

As a singer-songwriter, Cara writes about identity, grief, healing, relationships, self-trust, and the often messy process of becoming more fully yourself. Her music is influenced by artists such as Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Cat Stevens, Carole King, Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, Anna Nalick, and Lorde— artists who pair strong storytelling with emotional honesty and make vulnerability feel both intimate and expansive.

Cara’s path into music has not been perfectly linear. For years, she built a career in consulting, operations, and project leadership while carrying a quieter creative life alongside it. Eventually, that creative life became impossible to ignore. Leaving her corporate career marked the beginning of a new chapter centered on artistry, courage, self-expression, and building a life that feels genuinely her own.

Today, Cara writes and releases original music, performs live, shares works in progress, and continues developing a larger body of songs rooted in lived experience. Her work is candid, emotionally driven, and deeply interested in what it means to heal, tell the truth, and keep becoming.

Voice, Conversation, and Connection

Beyond writing and performing, Cara’s work also centers on helping people find and use their own voices. Through supportive voice lessons, she works with singers who want to build confidence, healthy technique, and authentic expression. As the host of The Candid Cara Podcast, she explores creativity, healing, identity, relationships, and the process of building a meaningful life.

A Final Note...

At first glance, music, teaching, podcasting, and administrative work may look like separate paths. To Cara, they are connected by the same values: honesty, creativity, care, communication, and meaningful human connection. She is building a life that makes room for all of them and sharing the process as she goes.
